Wedding Jewellery Customs

Sunday, July 24th, 2011

Wedding jewellery that individuals choose will vary from individual to individual and custom to custom. For example, the traditional English Wedding the bride tends to wear very simply designed elegant jewellery that goes with the white dress. This jewellery would generally be Silver with possibly some beads or pearls attached with a tiara depending on the individuals tastes. However Indian wedding jewellery is the complete opposite – the bride will normally go with bolder jewellery designs and colours to suit the sari and the jewellery would generally be of a colour of stones and diamonds making it bling bling.

The Art of Flower Arranging

Friday, July 22nd, 2011

Flower arranging could be seen as art that the middle class or aristocrats ladies would be experts in back in the Victorian days and possibly be a skill that a lady would need to have. These days it’s a skill that anybody can take up and courses can be found in many colleges. Once the course has been completed the individual can apply the skill to any occasion and depending on the imagination it can be used for any occasion from weddings, funerals, receptions and festivals down to everyday use simply to make a home or workplace look lovely giving it feel of peace and beauty that comes with flowers.

Flowers for weddings

Wednesday, July 20th, 2011

As weddings become more and more extravagant so do the cost associated with it. One of the biggest must haves are flowers and as such the costs of them can be high. For example – even if we look at receptions and engagements that used to take place in the Indian culture even up to 7 years ago it used to be a small bunch of flowers which the Groom would give to his bride to be and that would be it. Nowadays it’s a bigger event and as such you’d now be looking at table decorations with flowers and petals to mark the occasion. Available in a variety of colours it makes it easy to match to what ever colour scheme has been chosen.

Indian jewellery design is now being used to inspire designs for bracelets, necklaces and earrings in high street shops from Primark, Sainsbury to next. The designs mainly consist of beads and diamond in a variety of colours and shapes embedded into the designs which makes it easy to mix and match with outfits depending on the colours you choose. rather then buying real gold jewellery people are now accessorising with costume jewellery for nearly all occasions such as parties, weddings and general everyday wear as the variety to choose from is extensive. This is more so as the price of gold has shot up making costume jewellery even more appealing.

Flowers in Religion

Friday, July 15th, 2011

Flowers play a big part in religion and culture. As such in many eastern countries flowers are weaved into garlands used in worship in temples and flower garlands are also used in weddings, as part of customs to welcome someone and in prayers. In the Hindu religion flowers are used in temples as part of worship and you would see people taking flowers in which are then used when carrying out prayers. The deities are also garlanded in flowers and the temple would often be decorated with flowers of many colours and varieties more so on festivals where special efforts to decorate the temple are made.

They have a Rolex room, wedding ring world where you relax in a coffee lounge and view a vast range of rings they have to offer.

Spring Flowers

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Finally I feel that spring is here.

The dark and gloomy nights are behind us once again as every where you look flowers are beginning to appear. From an array of snow drops and bluebells to crocuses to daffodils and tulips. An arrange of colours which seem to brighten up everyone’s mood especially when the sun is shining too!

They’re in gardens, along the roadside, in windows boxes and patio tubs.  I love nothing more than a bunch of daffodils in a vase on my window sill.  They don’t cost much and only last a few days but that doesn’t matter to me i can just go out and buy some more!
